Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree in English literature. Mitchell began her career with KYW Radio and TV as an Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. 1976 Mitchell was hired by WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). Then, she became a Washington general reporter for NBC News two years later. The year 1980 marked the beginning of her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as chief foreign affairs correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell has appeared as a guest on TV news program Meet the Press as a panelist and host. Mitchell was a panelist at the debates in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded her Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism for the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) was honoured Mitchell for her contribution to the cause of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell's first White House coverage was for NBC News, between 1981-1988. This period included the two Ronald Reagan terms in office. She reported on a variety of notable stories, including arm control, budget tax reform, and the Iran-contra scandal and went on numerous trips together with President Reagan to meetings together with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
